About me

A little bit about me

Hello, I’m Jane.  I have a family (including pet family) and love animals and nature. I use nature as an amazing external resource available to support my own emotional wellbeing.

People that inspire me are  those who show compassion, kindness, strength and resilience, in line with my values.

I have been challenged many times in my life, but have had to pull out my brave part to work with my fear part along with a touch of resilience to be able to overcome these challenges.

When I was young, around 24 years of age, I went backpacking around the world and really saw some extraordinary places and experienced some wonderful places and I am grateful that I felt empowered to be brave to do this, it was an experience I will never forget and this inspired my continued love for travel.

Overcoming fear and being resilient

Whilst backpacking, I was able to complete a 10,000ft tandem skydive, which when about to jump out of the plane, truly petrified me.

I have completed a Marathon length Moonwalk in Edinburgh at night time and London to Brighton Bike Ride, both of which I am really proud of.

In 2019 I took part in a live BBC Essex radio interview with the founder of Kids Inspire (who I volunteer with) to discuss how their mentoring service can help children and young people after they have been through trauma therapy, I was able to do this even though I was full of fear as my driver was to improve awareness of the magnificent work Kids Inspire do for children and young people.  I was recently awarded their Ambassador of the Year for 2021, which I am really proud of.

All of these challenges required parts of me to shine, my bravery, strength and resilience.  I certainly needed to pull my brave part out in those times when my fear part was dominating.

My coaching journey…

Having worked in the public and private sector service for many years before I started Coaching, I was becoming aware that the career roles I was choosing did not lead to my own fulfilment nor did it increase my level of wellbeing.   I finally empowered myself to get up and do something about it a few years ago by signing up to be an Ollie Coach (see Services).  The journey was not easy, but after lots of hard work and learning about myself, here I am, now empowering others to make the change in their lives.

The really important bits

I am an ethically led fully qualified Neuro Linguistic Programme (NLP) Practitioner and am licenced to deliver the Ollie and his Superpowers Ollie transformation model (see more on this in Child Spirit under Services).  I am fully DBS checked, have public liability insurance and have completed many Child Safeguarding courses and continue to learn to support my own personal and professional development.

I am also an Associate member of the EMCC – European Mentoring and Coaching Council – a governing body responsible for ensuring good practice.

My desired outcome for every client is not to cure them, but to empower them to make the changes and to hope that the client can go away leading their best life.   I treat everyone as individuals and enter their world, no one is labelled or put in a box.  All clients, regardless of any neuro-diverse needs, are treated with kindness and respect.

I do hope that by me telling you a little bit about myself and what I hope for in terms of my client, that this will empower you to contact me via the Contact Form to book a free 20 minute consultation with no obligation to commit, to see if together we can empower you or your child/teen to shine and to find out more about the services I offer. It will be at this point I will also discuss more around how I keep your records confidentially.

I explain  in detail what I can offer in the  Services section.

Thank you for reading.
